Dr. Mangal Gharti Magar
Dr. Mangal Gharti Magar is the Co-Founder of the Health Action and Research. He is a plastic surgeon with post-graduate training in breast reconstructive surgery, gender reassignment surgery, and microsurgery from the Gent University Hospital, Belgium. He currently works as a Plastic Surgeon in the Department of Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Kirtipur Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is currently exploring for collaborations to initiate breast reconstructive surgery for survivors of breast cancer who had undergone mastectomy and introduce gender re-assignment surgery in Nepal. He is also conducting research in these areas to generate evidence-based practice and data-driven decision-making. Prior to joining plastic surgery he had extensive experience working in rural health care and had been a trainer for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness in Nepal.
